This week?

lindzine
- by bibiru and the wormholes

What?
Somebody created a zine on…Lindsay Lohan.

Who is Lindsay Lohan?
Well, yeah, some people just have better things to do than read gossip rags and watch movies on Beetles all day. For those illuminati: The 25-year-old actress-singer-jailbird Lindsay Lohan has attracted as much publicity off-screen as she has for her roles in slasher films and family comedies alike. The hijinks that have led her in and out of rehab centers and through the criminal justice system has always left us wondering whether she’s a celebrity trainwreck or a brilliant self-publicist—or both.

Who is the creative force behind this bizar idea?
Late last year Mexican-American artist Bibiru and his cohorts The Wormholes put together a 56-page zine dedicated to Lohan, a brilliantly titled, vaguely tongue-in-cheek tribute that captured massive attention and prompted renewed reflection on her undeniable beauty. Bibiru is following up on the black-and-white zine’s success with a second issue dropping in the coming days, and a third in the works.

Ferrari FF test A Snow-covered Forest Stage
- by markku alen

What?
1978 World Rally Champion Markku Alen takes the world’s fastest four-seater for a spin in his native Sweden at the snow-covered Arjeplog track, just south of the Arctic Circle.

Why is this so much fun?
The rally car vet pushes the FF to the brink through the wintry forest, banking around the snowy course in a shooting-brake capable of hitting 335 km/h and accelerating from zero to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds.

Is this a Ferrari for you?
No. The Ferrari FF marks the Italian sports car manufacturer’s first foray into four-wheel drive. An acronym for ‘Ferrari Four’, the FF couples the brand’s classic design aesthetic with a grand touring automobile.

star wars uncut: episode IV: a new hope'
- by casey pugh,
aaron valdez and bryan pugh

What?
In 2009, casey pugh divided the original star wars movie
into 15-second segments and invited fans to recreate the scenes in whatever manner they desired.
Just released now, the resulting, full-length film not only showcases the artistic talents of its thousands of co-creators–
with scenes spanning the spectrum of claymation, digital rendering, puppetry, handdrawn animation, and live action–
but also serves as a microcosmic look at pop culture, as many scenes reference in their style or dubbing popular
television shows, movies, and internet memes. lego men, kids, and live cats join star trek characters, family guy -like robots,
sock puppets, and others in the crowdsourced feature.

What do we think?
A 9 on our nerd scale.
